Review requests for restoration companies.Written for water damage restoration companies.

What a good one does

Updated

Restoration customers have just been through a stressful event, so a review request should wait until the job is finished and the home is dry, often after the final walk-through. Ask every customer the same way, keep it gentle, and link to your Google review form. Never tie the request to the insurance paperwork, the final invoice or a discount.

Mistakes to avoid. We see these often.

  • Asking for a review while the crew is still drying the house.
  • Linking the review to insurance paperwork or the final invoice.
  • Mentioning the customer's loss or claim in a public reply.

Questions people ask.Short answers.

When should a restoration company ask?

After the final walk-through, once the home is dry and the customer has their job file. Asking mid-job adds pressure at a hard time.

Can we mention the insurance claim in a reply?

Keep replies general. Don't repeat details about the loss or the claim that the customer didn't share.

Can I offer to waive a fee for a review?

No. Google doesn't allow incentives for reviews, and US rules ban rewards tied to a positive review.
