Review requests for dental offices.Written for dental practices.

What a good one does

Updated

A dental review request should be warm, brief and free of anything clinical. Send it to every patient after the visit with the practice's Google review link, and remind them they don't need to share health details. When reviews come in, reply without confirming the person is a patient or mentioning treatment, because federal regulators have fined practices for exactly that.

  • Mentioning a treatment, appointment or patient detail in a review reply.
  • Asking patients to describe their treatment in the review.
  • Sending review requests only after visits that went smoothly.

Questions people ask.Short answers.

What can a dental office say when replying to reviews?

Thank the reviewer and invite them to call. Don't confirm they are a patient or mention treatment. HHS has fined practices for disclosing patient information in review replies.

Is it fine to ask every patient for a review?

Yes. Google allows asking for genuine reviews without incentives, as long as you don't single out happy patients.

Should we ask on Healthgrades or Yelp too?

Google is the main place to ask. Yelp asks businesses not to request reviews, and Healthgrades reviews are tied to individual providers.
