Missed-call texts for med spas.Written for med spas.
What a good one does
Updated
A med spa's missed-call text should turn interest into a booked consultation without making offers it can't make by text. Reply within a minute, ask which treatment or provider they want and when they're free, and send anyone with a reaction after treatment to the clinic line straight away. Leave specials out of the first reply, and include a STOP line.

- FCC: Stop unwanted robocalls and texts (consent for texts)
- 47 CFR 64.1200: the TCPA rules, including opt-out words and the 10-business-day limit
- FCC rule effective November 25, 2026 on how customers revoke consent
- CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices (May 2023)
- A2P 10DLC registration for business texting (Twilio docs)
Mistakes to avoid. We see these often.
- Adding a special or discount to the reply, which turns it into a marketing text.
- Discussing medical history or treatment suitability by text.
- Making a client with a reaction wait for a call back instead of giving the clinic number.
Questions people ask.Short answers.
Can a med spa text specials to people who called?
Not in the missed-call reply. A special makes it a marketing text, which needs signed written consent under FCC rules.
What if the caller had a reaction?
Give the clinic number in the first text and tell them to call 911 if it's severe. Don't try to assess it by text.
Should the reply mention prices?
Offer to call with details. Prices depend on the treatment plan, and a call is the place to explain that.
