Missed-call texts for auto repair shops.Written for auto repair shops.
What a good one does
Updated
An auto repair shop's missed-call text should find out what the car is doing and whether it's drivable, then offer a time. Reply within a minute, ask for the year, make, model and symptom, and say up front whether you charge a diagnostic fee. Offer a towing option if the car won't move, keep prices honest and in writing, and include a STOP line.

Mistakes to avoid. We see these often.

- No towing option for callers whose car won't move.
Questions people ask.Short answers.
Should I text prices?
State your diagnostic fee and promise a written estimate. The FTC tells drivers to get one before work starts, so it builds trust to say it first.
What if the car isn't safe to drive?
Offer towing and talk it through on the call rather than diagnosing by text.
Should the text mention ASE certification?
Keep the first text practical. Put certifications on your website and profile, and only claim what's true for your technicians.
