Nextdoor.What AI reads there.

A community site that AI assistants may draw on. What is documented, who it matters for, and how to fix your listing. Cost: Free business page. Ads are paid; Nextdoor doesn't publish current ad prices.

The short answer

Updated

Nextdoor is a neighbourhood network where residents recommend local businesses. It creates business pages automatically, and owners can claim theirs for free. Nextdoor uses AI to summarise neighbour recommendations on its own pages, but we found no official statement that ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity use Nextdoor data. Treat it as the place neighbours vouch for you, and keep the page accurate.

Does AI use it?Only what's documented.

Each row links to the maker's or the platform's own words. Where nothing is published, we say so.

How we handle it.What our team does.

A specialist checks your Nextdoor page against your Google profile and, from Essentials up, rechecks it each month for a name, phone, hours or service area that has drifted. Recommendations on Nextdoor come from verified neighbours, so we never ask staff or friends to pose as customers.

Questions people ask.Short answers.

Is a Nextdoor business page free?

Yes. Nextdoor describes the business page as free, with unlimited free posts. Ads are a separate, paid product.

Can I hide my street address?

Yes. If you hide it, neighbours see only the city of your address, which suits businesses that work at customers' homes.

Does ChatGPT use Nextdoor recommendations?

We found no official statement from Nextdoor or OpenAI saying so. Nextdoor's AI features summarise recommendations inside Nextdoor itself.
