Editorial policy. How we check what we publish.
Last updated October 31, 2026
Damex guides are written for owners of local service businesses who need a straight answer they can act on. This page explains where our facts come from, how we check them and what happens when we get something wrong.
Where our facts come from
We go to the original source. In order of preference:
- Official sources: the platform or regulator itself, such as Google's help pages, the FTC, the FCC, HHS, the FDA and state boards.
- The company's own pages for its own products and prices, such as a vendor's pricing page.
- Named studies with a stated method, such as BrightLocal or Whitespark research, cited to the publisher.
We don't cite figures we only found quoted second-hand. If we can't trace a number to its source, we leave it out.
How we check a guide
- Every outside claim is checked on the source page before publishing, and recorded with its link and the supporting line.
- The claims with the most at stake, such as legal rules, platform policies and prices, are checked a second time, separately, before publishing.
- Each claim is linked where it's made, and every source is listed at the end of the guide.
- Source links are re-checked every month. When a page moves or changes, we update the guide and its date.
Examples and numbers
Worked examples use round numbers and are tagged "Worked example". They show how to do the maths, not what any business will get. We don't publish client results, testimonials or reviews unless they are real and we have permission, and we never invent them.
How AI is used
We use AI tools to help research and draft guides. A person on our team sets the topic, edits the draft and is accountable for what's published. Every claim is checked against its source page before it goes live, and no claim is published because a model said so.
What the guides are not
Guides that touch on law, privacy or medical advertising explain what the official sources say. They are not legal advice. Rules vary by state, so check with your attorney or state board before acting on them.
When we mention Damex
Guides sometimes mention Damex services and prices. When they do, we say plainly that it's our service. Our prices are published on the pricing table.
Corrections
If you find an error, email contact@damex.digital with the page and what's wrong. We check it against the source, fix the guide and update its date.
