# Missed-call texts for chiropractors: 8 replies

> A chiropractic office's missed-call text should get the patient booked without asking about their symptoms by text. Reply within a minute with the practice name, ask for their name and a good time to call, and say when walk-ins are seen if you take them. Point emergencies to 911, keep insurance questions for the call, and include a STOP line.

## Mistakes to avoid

- Asking patients to describe pain or conditions by text.
- Collecting insurance member IDs by text.
- No emergency line in the after-hours text.

## FAQs

### Can we ask what's wrong in the text?

Keep it to booking. Symptoms and history belong on the phone or in your intake forms, not a text thread.

### Should the text explain Medicare coverage?

Offer to call. Medicare covers spinal adjustments to correct a subluxation but not other services a chiropractor orders, which takes a minute to explain.

### Do we need a STOP line on one reply?

Yes. FCC rules list STOP and similar words as ways to opt out, and CTIA's guidelines expect senders to say how.
