# Google Business Profile post templates: 10 examples

> A good Google Business Profile post shows a real job, season or update in a few plain sentences, with a photo of your own work. Use Update, Offer or Event posts as Google defines them, add a Call now button instead of typing a phone number, and post weekly. Google archives posts older than six months unless they have a date range.

Published Oct 31, 2026, updated Oct 31, 2026. By Shakhawat Ullah Badhon, Founder, Damex Digital.

## The templates

### 1. Update: a job you finished this week

```text
This week in [neighbourhood]: [what you did, in one sentence]. [One detail a homeowner would notice.] Photos are from the job, shared with the customer's OK.
```

### 2. Update: a tip for the season

```text
[Season] tip from our team: [one practical check]. If you spot [warning sign], that's the moment to book a visit.
```

### 3. Update: introducing someone

```text
Meet [first name], who [role] and has been with us since [year]. Ask for [first name] next time you call.
```

### 4. Update: answering a common question

```text
A question we hear every week: [question]? Short answer: [answer in one or two sentences]. Here's what that means for your [home or visit].
```

### 5. Update: before and after

```text
Before and after at a [type of property] in [town]. The problem: [problem]. The fix: [fix]. Took [time].
```

### 6. Update: a new service

```text
We now offer [service] across [service area]. Here's who it's for and what the first visit involves.
```

### 7. Update: holiday or special hours

```text
Our hours over [holiday]: [days and times]. They're also set on this profile so Maps shows them correctly.
```

### 8. Offer: a real, dated offer

```text
[Offer title]. Valid [start date] to [end date] for [who it's for]. [Any terms in one plain sentence.]
```

Google's Offer posts need a title, dates and times. Don't post offers or prices for prescription or regulated products.

### 9. Event: an open day or talk

```text
[Event name] on [date] at [time], at [place]. [What people will learn or see.] No booking needed.
```

### 10. Update: local involvement

```text
Our team spent [day] helping at [local event or cause]. Thanks to everyone who came along.
```

## Mistakes to avoid

- Typing a phone number or email in the post. Google may remove posts with contact details it can't verify; add a Call now button instead.
- Posting offers or prices for prescription or regulated treatments.
- Using stock photos instead of your own work.
- Posting the same text every week.

## FAQs

### How often should I post?

Weekly is a good rhythm for a local business. Each post should be about something real: a job, a season, a person or a change.

### Can I put my phone number in a post?

Google says posts with phone numbers it can't verify as the business's may be rejected. Use the Call now button instead.

### Do posts expire?

Google archives posts older than six months unless a date range is set. Offers and events end on their dates.
