# Google Local Services Ads: does AI use it, and how to fix your listing

> Google Local Services Ads are pay-per-lead ads shown in Google Search for service businesses, with a Google Verified badge for businesses that pass Google's screening. You need a verified Business Profile, and your reviews come from it. Star ratings and review counts affect where you rank. The badge isn't available for auto categories, and health care categories can't take booking leads.

## How to claim and fix it

1. **Check your category.** Google lists the categories Local Services Ads supports in each country.
2. **Link a verified Business Profile.** Google says advertisers must have a public, verified Business Profile.
3. **Pass screening.** Upload licences and insurance; the name on documents must match the name you advertise with.
4. **Set your budget and bids.** Your bid is the most you'll pay for a lead, and you may pay less.

## Keep these fields identical to your Google profile

- Business name
- Phone number (Google shows a tracking number)
- Service area
- Hours
- Licences and insurance

## How Damex handles it

On the paid ads add-on we run Local Services Ads inside the budget cap you set, and on Growth and Authority the reviews program builds the Google reviews that decide your ranking there. Lead spend is billed to your own account.

## FAQs

### What is the Google Verified badge?

Google says it signals that a business has passed Google's screening. It isn't currently available for auto, beauty and dining categories.

### Where do the reviews come from?

From your Google Business Profile. Google says reviews are managed there, not in the Local Services Ads account.

### Do reviews affect my position?

Yes. Google says star ratings and the number of reviews affect how a business ranks in Local Services Ads.
