# Google Business Profile for med spas: categories, services and posts

> Med spas should choose Medical spa as their primary category on Google Business Profile and add secondary categories only for services offered in-house, such as Laser hair removal service. Clinicians who see clients can have practitioner profiles. Be careful with posts: Google restricts offers and prices for regulated products, so promote consultations and the experience, not discounted injectables.

Category names checked against public copies of Google's list on Oct 31, 2026. Google doesn't publish the list openly, so confirm each one in your profile's category picker.

## Primary category

**Medical spa.** It tells Google you combine medical treatments with spa services, which a Day spa category doesn't.

## Secondary categories

|---|---|---|
| Laser hair removal service | You offer laser hair removal. | |
| Facial spa | Facials are a real part of your menu. | |
| Skin care clinic | You offer clinical skin treatments. | |
| Tattoo removal service | You offer laser tattoo removal. | |
| Day spa | You also run full day spa services. | you only offer treatments. Categories should describe what the business is. |
| IV therapy service | Licensed staff provide IV therapy on site. | |

## Services to add

- **Consultations:** Aesthetic consultation, Skin consultation
- **Skin:** Facials, Chemical peels, Microneedling, Laser skin resurfacing
- **Laser:** Laser hair removal, Tattoo removal

## Attributes

- **Wheelchair-accessible entrance:** Patients and clients who need step-free access check this before they book. Add the restroom and parking attributes too if they apply.
- **Owner identity:** Google offers attributes such as Veteran-owned, Women-owned and Black-owned. Add only those that are true; they help customers who look for them.
- **Small business:** Google defines a small business as one making less than $10 million a year, and franchises can't use it.

## What gets profiles suspended

- Adding keywords, towns or taglines to your business name. Google says it can lead to suspension. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177))
- Posting deals, coupons or prices for prescription treatments. Google restricts promotions for regulated products; this is our reading of its policy, which doesn't name med spas. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7400114))
- Misleading health or medical claims in posts, descriptions or photos. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7400114))
- Using a P.O. box or a virtual office you don't work from as your address. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/13762416))
- Creating a new profile for the same business, including after a suspension. Appeal instead; Google allows one appeal. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/4569145))

## FAQs

### Can a med spa post Botox specials on Google?

We'd avoid it. Google restricts deals and prices for regulated products, and injectables are prescription treatments. Promote consultations instead.

### Should our clinicians have their own profiles?

Public-facing clinicians can have practitioner profiles named with their own names. The med spa keeps its own profile too.

### Are before-and-after photos allowed?

Google may allow minimally clothed people shown in a non-sexualised way, and asks for photos without heavy edits. Get each client's written consent first.
