# Google Business Profile for chiropractic practices: categories, services and posts

> A chiropractic practice should choose Chiropractor as its primary category on Google Business Profile, with one profile for the practice and separate profiles only for public-facing chiropractors. Add secondaries such as Massage therapist only if licensed staff provide that service. Keep insurance details and hours current, avoid health claims in posts, and never reply in a way that confirms someone is a patient.

Published Nov 1, 2026, updated Nov 1, 2026. By Shakhawat Ullah Badhon, Founder, Damex Digital.

Category names checked against public copies of Google's list on Nov 1, 2026. Google doesn't publish the list openly, so confirm each one in your profile's category picker.

## Primary category

**Chiropractor.** It's the core category for the profession, found in the public copy of Google's list that includes medical categories.

## Secondary categories

| Category | Use it when | Avoid it when |
|---|---|---|
| Massage therapist | Licensed massage therapists work at the practice. | |
| Sports massage therapist | You offer sports massage with licensed staff. | |
| Acupuncturist | A licensed acupuncturist practises there. | |
| Physical therapy clinic | Licensed physical therapists work at the practice. | you don't employ physical therapists. |
| Pain control clinic | Physicians provide pain management at the practice. | you're a chiropractic-only practice. It reads as a physician clinic. |

## Services to add

- **Chiropractic care:** New patient exam, Spinal adjustment, Follow-up visit
- **Other services:** Massage therapy, Rehabilitation exercises, Posture assessment

## Attributes

- **Wheelchair-accessible entrance:** Patients and clients who need step-free access check this before they book. Add the restroom and parking attributes too if they apply.
- **Owner identity:** Google offers attributes such as Veteran-owned, Women-owned and Black-owned. Add only those that are true; they help customers who look for them.
- **Small business:** Google defines a small business as one making less than $10 million a year, and franchises can't use it.

## Photos to upload first

1. The practice exterior with signage
2. The reception area
3. A treatment room, clean and ready
4. Each chiropractor's portrait for their practitioner profile
5. The team together, with everyone's agreement
6. Accessible entrance and parking
7. Equipment patients ask about, without patients in view
8. The street view showing where to park

## What gets profiles suspended

- Adding keywords, towns or taglines to your business name. Google says it can lead to suspension. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177))
- Giving one practitioner several profiles for different specialties. Google says a practitioner shouldn't have multiple profiles. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177))
- Profiles for support staff. Google says only public-facing practitioners should have their own. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/3038177))
- Posting or replying with anything that identifies a patient or their care. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7400114))
- Misleading health or medical claims in posts, descriptions or photos. ([Google's guideline](https://support.google.com/business/answer/7400114))

## FAQs

### Should each chiropractor have a profile?

Public-facing chiropractors can, named with their own name only. The practice keeps its own profile too.

### Can we add Massage therapist?

Only if licensed massage therapists work at the practice. Categories should describe services you really provide.

### Can posts make health claims?

Keep posts to practical tips and practice news. Google restricts misleading health or medical information.
