# Knowledge panel

> A knowledge panel is the box of facts Google shows in search results about a person, organization, place or thing, built automatically from sources across the web.

Google says knowledge panels are generated automatically from information across the web, sometimes combined with data from partners, and that changes come from the people or organizations the panel describes and from user feedback.

For a local business, the box with hours, phone number, reviews, photos and directions is its Google Business Profile. Google says Business Profiles look like knowledge panels but belong to businesses that serve customers at a location or in a service area, and they are managed through Business Profile, not claimed as a panel.

A brand, person or organization with a knowledge panel can claim it: search for it, select Claim this knowledge panel, and sign in to an official site or profile Google lists, such as YouTube or Search Console. Google says not every panel can be claimed yet.

Anyone can suggest a correction with the Feedback link under the panel. Flag the wrong fact, say what it should be and link to pages that prove it. Feedback from a verified, signed-in owner gets priority review.

Keep your Business Profile, website and main listings saying the same thing, so the facts Google shows and the ones AI answers repeat stay correct.

Example: Example: a dental group's brand panel shows an old logo. The practice manager claims the panel by signing in to the group's official YouTube channel, then suggests the new logo with a link to the website.
